This past week I participated in the making of a video to say goodbye to Pat Trojanowicz, the sweetest, and most helpful, communication arts department secretary, who will be retiring next month. She has been working in the Communications Arts program long before I was even living in the United States, and she has been, to students and faculty in the present and in the past, an invaluable help all around.
Since my first few days of classes, she has offered kind words and support. Being able to thank her in a video alongside other grateful students and professors was a great way to let her know how important she has been to me, as well as the rest of the department.
Seeing the department come together like this reminded me of just how special Marywood is; it reminded me that it is really more than just a school, it’s more than just a department. It’s a family. And I feel so lucky to be a part of it. (:
P.S. My featured photo is of Brandon, junior digital media major, who shot the amazing goodbye video for Pat.
Irene Torresani is a sophomore advertising and public relations major. When she’s not blogging for Frame Your Future, she’s serving as vice president for Marywood’s PRSSA and AAF chapters. Learn more about Irene here.
