Easter is just around the corner, and this semester feels like it flew by. This past week alone felt like it happened in the blink of an eye. We had our monthly Student/ Faculty meeting for the Comm Arts department on Wednesday. What usually happens at this meeting is the different focuses within the Comm Arts department talk about what is happening with specific clubs or organizations.
The most shocking news during this most recent Student/Faculty meeting was that the Ad/Pr department will be losing one of out faculty members. Professor Bolton, who teaches mainly the Public Relations classes, will be leaving next fall to pursue a great business opportunity. I wish her the best!
This means changes for the Ad/PR program, for sure, but I’m sure everything will work out in the end. It means I won’t be taking a PR course this fall, but I guess that just gives me more motivation to focus in on my practicum opportunities. It will be nice to be taking some courses outside of my major. I’m really looking forward to what the next Fall semester will be like!
Erin Murphy is a sophomore advertising and public relations major. She transferred to Marywood just this year. When she’s not blogging, she’s serving as assistant business manager at The Wood Word.
