This entire fall semester, TV-Marywood (TVM) has been covering so many events happening on campus.
Last year, TVM broadcasted in the studio every Tuesday. Usually with every broadcast, there was one news package to go along in the broadcast. Now that we have moved into the new Learning Commons studio, our technology and equipment is more advanced. We no longer will have a non-90s-looking studio with terrible lighting or audio, camera quality, or an old set.
Also, last year the TVM Package Team had to cover one newsworthy event per week. Just last week alone, the TVM Packaging Team managed to cover, edit, and finish a total of four events that happened in the Marywood community.
I mainly think the TVM participation is higher this semester because we are a group of students who really want to produce videos, film, edit, and report news.
Since the TV studio in the brand new Learning Commons library wasn’t quite ready yet to use, we are unable to broadcast any news this semester, but we have used this to our our advantage! We have decided to continue news reporting by bringing the JVC and tripod equipment to the scene because the show must go on!
Last week, we managed to upload six videos in five days. Last Monday, we covered the Flea Market story. On Tuesday, we did a November weather report. On Wednesday, November 11, we filmed and finished editing both Campus Ministry’s Fair Trade Sale and Veterans Day packages. On Thursday, we covered Marywood’s second year celebrating Philanthropy Day and the English Department’s Book Swap. There’s never a shortage of stories to report on campus.
