The semester just started. But, somehow, instead of feeling like I came back from a break, I feel like there was just a long weekend in between the semesters.
This time, all of the on-campus media outlets are more dedicated to hitting the ground running. At The Wood Word, we’ve been writing stories over the break, and we had our first meeting recently.
Last semester, we made the transition from a print publication to a web-only one, so our meeting was specifically about some of the new ways in which we’ll be working with that change having been made. Some of the things we discussed were a new online workflow and how to better construct social media posts on The Wood Word‘s Facebook and Twitter pages.
As I’m writing this, I just got out of the first TV-M meeting of the semester. With the new studio space, TV-M can do a ton of new and interesting things with their productions, so, just like our Wood Word meeting, TV-M mostly discussed new workflows.
This semester is already shaping up to be an interesting one, what with the changes at the media outlets and my upcoming senior seminar project (which you’ll be hearing more about in the coming weeks!). It’s going to be great, and I’m happy to be back.
