If you are connected with any of the DJs on social media, you probably know that 91.7 VMFM is officially up and running in our brand new radio station! You can now tune in to Marywood University’s Alternative Rock radio station on your radio on 91.7 or live streaming from the website VMFM917.org.
My shifts are a co-shift with my friend, Rachel. We are currently on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. When DJ Rachel and I had our shift last Wednesday, we had mentioned that we had the request phone line working and people listened. We had seven people call in and request songs! This is a record for call-in requests.
One aspect about the radio that I really enjoy is when the listeners call in to converse with me or to request songs from our library of more than 7,000 alternative rock songs. I think I speak for every DJ when I say we all really enjoy radio shifts and get good experience practicing our radio voice, speaking with listeners, and being exposed to music, sweepers, and bumpers.
Even if you’re not in the Scranton area, you can stream us live online. Be sure to tune in tomorrow night at 8 p.m.!
