First Birthday

It seems only yesterday my co-editor, McKensie, and I were going through the screening process to launch a chapter of Her Campus Media here at Marywood. We applied, went through several stages and a phone interview before receiving confirmation that our chapter would be launched on April 21, 2015.

A year later,  our chapter is flourishing. We now manage a team of 25 individuals from all different majors who serve as writers, social media contributors and marketing experts. Last Wednesday, we celebrated our first birthday with cupcakes, raffles and the unveiling of our new graphics from Her Campus Nationals.

These new graphics may seem insignificant, but they show just how much this project has grown over the last year–from two girls sitting in a dorm room doing a phone interview to 25 girls excited about their ideas and eager to write.

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that on our small campus, our team would be so successful within a year. I am so glad I am able to contribute to such an organization that provides a place for women to share their ideas and discuss important issues. I am so excited to see where we are this time next year.

Happy First Birthday, Her Campus Marywood. Thanks for changing my life.
