Marywood University’s radio station, 91.7 VMFM, is being recognized for its new programs and new deejays. I wrote about these revamps the beginning of the semester, but here’s an update on what the station has been up to.
Nominated for two awards
VMFM is nominated for both Best College Radio Station and Best Local Radio Station by the Electric City Best of 2016. Take a second to support the radio station by voting for VMFM here. VMFM has won the Best College Station award every year since 2005, so vote to help us continue the success!
Celebrated College Radio Day
VMFM celebrated national College Radio Day on Friday, Nov. 4. The aim of College Radio Day is to raise an awareness about college and high school radio stations and to encourage people to listen to these stations.
To participate in College Radio Day, VMFM had a “Countdown to College Radio Day” on social media, thanked the listeners and deejays all day on-air, and hosted a table in the Learning Commons to raise awareness about the station and to celebrate it with the Marywood community.
Selling tee shirts
Currently, VMFM is also selling black tee shirts with the station’s logo on it. The tee shirts will help spread the word around campus that we have a radio station and create a family among the deejays and Marywood community. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to purchase a shirt before Tues. Nov, 22.
