Live from the Marywood University Learning Commons, a new late night talk show!
In the Fall semester, freshman Broadcast Journalism major Rachael Eyler pitched an original show idea to the TV-Marywood Executive Board — a late night talk show. The next steps needed to make this show happen included developing the program, writing the script, recruiting a crew, and producing it in the studio. She recruited Anne Zukowski (that’s me!) as her associate producer to assist her with the production of this new show.
The talk show would feature guests from the Marywood community and a musical performance for each week.
To spread the word around campus about this new talk show, TV-Marywood collaborated with Marywood’s chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSSA) and American Advertising Federation (AAF). Their members designed posters and a created a campaign to promote the show. Below are the posters:
Additionally, some of Marywood’s Music students composed and recorded the opening and ending theme music of the Late Night Marywood show.
After months of development, the premiere of Late Night Marywood aired Live on TV-Marywood’s Facebook page on February 13.
“It was very surreal,” said Eyler.
“The video for the Black Tie Stereo [the musical guest] went from 300 views to 1.8k views in a day [on Facebook], and it’s crazy to think that I did that. As a freshman, I can really believe that when they said at a [Marywood University] open house you can do anything. You really can if you put the work and time into it,” said Eyler.
“I think the show can really go somewhere in the next four years and hopefully longer.”
Every Monday at 9 p.m., tune into TV Marywood’s Facebook page to watch Late Night Marywood!
