There’s so many good things happening at our radio station this Spring. Good things = awesome opportunities for Comm Arts students to learn new skills. I’m breaking it all down for you here.
Off Mic Series
Want to meet the voices behind 91.7 VMFM? Now you can.
Marywood University’s alternative genre radio station, 91.7 VMFM, is producing a new video series called Off Mic.
Off Mic features interviews with both experienced and newer VMFM DJs. These videos are shared on 91.7 VMFM’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages each week.
The first two Off Mic videos released featured DJ Nicolo Manzo and DJ Martin Monahan, both freshmen digital media/broadcast production majors. Using lessons learned in After Effects from the new Comm professor Bill Murphy’s Special Topics: Motion Graphics course, VMFM Station Manager Kyle Clouse created the 30-second introduction to the Off Mic videos.
VMFM also is continuing to cover alternative music news, including any album releases or music videos on VMFM’s primary social media pages. Each Friday, VMFM shares the album releases on that day and shares a Flashback Friday! music video, which gets a lot of interactive feedback from the listeners.
