I chose Marywood because not only is it close to home but also the faculty is so supportive. They are really involved in your education and hope to see you succeed.
I am majoring in Comm Arts because I knew what I wanted to study but was previously undecided. It wasn’t until I spoke with a group of students at orientation that I was lead in this direction. They knew the university and its programs so well that they were able to place me in a program and concentration that suited my interests perfectly. I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome!
When I’m not in class, I’m getting involved in our PRSSA/AAF organization. I do love being creative though, so outside of my academics, you can find me painting away at home.
My favorite class is Communication Theory. It’s interesting to learn the nature of communication in all aspects. It is also a plus that Dr. Wotanis teaches this. She makes it so engaging!
The coolest thing I’ve done so far is still to come. It’s just my first year here at Marywood so I hope to make some memorable experiences soon.
When I graduate, I want to make my way into the entertainment and music industry. Ideally, I would love to work in a major city for a well established PR firm.
I’d recommend the Comm Arts program at Marywood because there are endless ways to get involved. Even though I’m just a few weeks into my studies, I have already been introduced to the university’s radio and news stations as well as the newspaper. Every Comm Arts student is encouraged to gain a hands-on experience through these channels, which I think is great.
