PRSSA/AAF

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the respected organization for students studying communications and public relations.  The Society works with professionals from the Public Relations Society of America to guarantee rigorous academic standards in public relations education, the highest ethical principles within the practice, and diversity in the profession.

PRSSA is made up of more than 11,000 national and international students and advisers organized into 300 plus chapters. It is the goal of PRSSA, and the PRSSA Marywood University Chapter, to help students enhance their education, build a network within the profession, and help in the professional development of a future career in communication.

Students who join PRSSA have access to national support, job opportunities, and the experience of working with the PRSSA Marywood University Chapter on projects designed to produce work that will contribute to a portfolio.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) is “the unifying voice for advertising.” This professional organization “protects and promotes the well-being of advertising.” The Marywood Chapter of AAF offers opportunities for students to gain hands-on knowledge of advertising and promotional techniques through work with on-campus and community non-profit organizations. In addition, students can network with local members of AAF’s Northeast PA affiliate.
